I wanted to share a new project my daughter, Danielle and I are working on (with our cousins) as part of her journey toward becoming a Bat Mitzvah. She has participated in a few mitzvah projects. A mitzvah is a good deed—a way to help others. We are hopeful that you'll participate in helping us to build a library for the children of Kibera. Please read the below information and spread the word far and wide! We'd love to be able to send as many books as possible to Kibera.
The wishlist can be found here: https://bookshop.org/wishlists/7342b5ffca57785d9dd1ebbb0c7c0c8dada3f33b
Purchasing from Bookshop also helps Independent Bookstores! It's a win-win!
Of course, please feel free to purchase books that aren't listed on this list as well. This list is just a place to start.
Please message me for information about where to send the books.
We would love all books to be sent by April 15th. But, please feel free to send books after that date as well, if you are inspired.
Authors: Many publishers will donate books. If you are so inclined, we'd love it if you would see if your publisher will donate multiple copies of your books to the library. Thank you for considering this! Please feel free to reach out to me for specific text that you can use to send to your publisher.
Let's work together to help children see the beauty that can be found between the pages of a book. Books change lives!
